Saturday, September 4
Celebrate the beauty of Chinatown with Lion Dances at Chin Park on The Greenway. Every Saturday at noon, Lion Dances will welcome everyone to Chinatown and parade through the streets! Through September 18.
September 5-October 31
Come explore seven acres of fun at Connors Farm in Danvers! The corn maze opens for the fall season on September 5, and fall admission includes more than 50 different attractions, including pedal carts, pig races, jumping pillows, and so much more! You will definitely find something for everyone at this fun fall event!
Monday, September 6
Read a book, work, play, and explore in the garden at Overlook Farm in Rutland! This adorable program is aimed at children ages 2-6, but all are welcome. Participants will be outside for the whole program and there will be plenty of walking, so please dress appropriately.

Where the Questions Live is an amazing exhibit by artist Wes Sam-Bruce that looks at the connections of human beings with the natural world in a fantastically curiosity-driven, format-bending way! Don’t miss out on this experience!
King Richard’s Faire

New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance festival returns to Carver for its 40th anniversary celebration! Enjoy the minstrels, acrobats, fire eaters, aerialists, and larger-than-life puppets, and don’t miss the brand new dog show! Many interactive experiences, such as the princess academy and knight school, are free for little ones!
Through September 30
Come to Tower Hill Botanical Gardens to explore a fantastical collection of interactive, outdoor hideaways inspired by art and nature! The eight magical hideaways are located in the Garden Within Reach, adjacent to the Daffodil Field, and in the meadows. Guests are encouraged to play and interact with the pieces!
September 10-19 and September 24-October 3
This family-friendly play is an original work created and performed by Tyson Forbes, a direct descendant of Ralph Waldo Emerson. “Nature” is performed outdoors as a walking play. The ensemble of actors takes the audience on a journey through Emerson and Thoreau’s love affair with the natural world, with the scenes unfolding in the nature around them. The performance will take place at Appleton Farms in Ipswich from September 10-19 and at Francis William Bird Park in Walpole from September 24-October 3.
Saturday, September 11
Enjoy a family hike through Chestnut Hill Farm’s grounds and trails, accompanied by one (or more!) playful, curious goats! Your ticket gets you an hour-long adventure, a harness and leash, and a furry new goat pal to hang out with!
This free event spans across the 34 cities and towns of Essex County! Guests can enjoy historical tours, guided walks, sails, and many more adventures throughout the Essex National Heritage Area.
September 17-October 3
The Big E is back this year! Guests at the ninth largest fair in North America will enjoy musical performances, agricultural exhibits, a midway with rides and games, countless vendors, and an amazing array of delicious fair treats! Debuting this year is the Super Wheel, a 150-foot-high Ferris wheel with 36 climate-controlled gondolas that seat up to six people each!
Come celebrate Billerica’s patriotic history! This town-wide celebration includes a bike and doll carriage decorating contest, the Billerica Colonial Minutemen encampment, Mad Science of Boston, and New England Patriots cheerleaders, culminating with a parade and fireworks!
This dog-friendly 5K isn’t just for the pooches! Activities include doggy demonstrations, pet vendors, free face painting, entertainment, ice cream, and much more! Money raised helps to fund MVMA Charities, which assists with the financial needs of stray animals.

Celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the invention of Marshmallow Fluff, which was invented right in Somerville! Come enjoy musical performances, a cooking contest, fun for all ages, and Fluff treats for everyone!

There is fun for the whole family at KidsFest! Guests can enjoy laser tag, pony rides, moonwalks, a reptile show, frisbee dogs, face painting, and much more! Bring your appetite, because you won’t want to miss out on the barbecue tent!

Come to the historic Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury to see the Massachusetts Society Fife & Drum Muster. The grand parade of fifes and drums begins at noon, kicking off a full day of music, muskets, history, and fun!
